South Africa

February 10th, 2011

Just spent a wonderful week in South Africa.

What a lucky guy I am! Good and productive business, and meeting up with some of my best friends.
I work with a dealer called Inter Africa. I am also very good friends with the largest local dealer, Wright-Millner, for they were the ones I worked closely with in the ‘early days’.

So in Cape Town, where I was lecturing at the ‘Clinical Innovations’ conference, I actually stayed with Gus and Lydia Millner, who live at Camps Bay, within the warm hug of Table Mountain and Signal Peak. (Giorgio Armani recently became a neighbour).
Cape Town has always been an attractive city in an attractive area. The 2010 Football World Cup bumped it into the 21st Century.

The conference was at the terrific CTICC, Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Of course, it overlooked the Waterfront, where, by coincidence, the latest and largest Ocean Liner, Queen Mary II, was docked.

Flew out of Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambu Airport yesterday, where another ‘biggy’ was showing it’s face for the first time: Air France’s Airbus A-380 was making it’s maiden voyage on the route to Paris. (I prefer a cruise on the Queen Mary II).
